A great big warm congratulations to Kate who yesterday won the South Bank Award for Pop, for her new album “50 Words For Snow”. She also popped up for a charming quick speech in which she seemed nervous yet completely glowing. This caused thousands of fans nationwide to be forced to send their sofa covers off for dry-cleaning, after wetting themselves with shock, pride, and general nerdy fan-excitement. How lovely to see her, and well done! Happy gif time!

*Note to fans: this won The Observer Readers’ Award for greatest cover of all time, Kate said, “From the age of 11, Elton John was my biggest hero. I loved his music, had all his albums and I hoped one day I’d play the piano like him (I still do). When I asked to be involved in this project and was given the choice of a track it was like being asked ‘would you like to fulfill a dream? would you like to be Rocket Man?’… yes, I would.”
